The Warm Neutral takes part in affiliate programmes, including through the Awin network. This means some links to shops and products are tracked, and if you buy something after clicking one, this site may receive a commission from the retailer.
This never changes what you pay.
How affiliate content is labelled
Under UK advertising rules, content that promotes products through affiliate links is advertising and has to be identified as such before you read it — not afterwards.
So on any page containing affiliate links, you will find a labelled block marked Ad immediately above the products, rather than a single line at the bottom of the page. Where only part of a guide contains affiliate links and the rest is purely editorial, only that part is labelled.
How products are chosen
Products are picked because they suit the room being described. Commission rates vary a great deal between retailers, and a higher rate is not a reason for something to appear here.
Where something is worth buying second-hand instead of new — which, in this niche, is often — the guides say so, and there is no commission in that at all.
Privacy
This site does not ask you to create an account and does not collect your name, address or payment details.
Affiliate links work by setting a cookie in your browser that tells the retailer the visit came from here. If you would rather not have that, you can block cookies in your browser settings or visit the retailer directly.
Basic, anonymised analytics may be used to see which guides people read. This does not identify you individually.
Retailers you click through to have their own privacy policies, which govern what happens once you leave this site.
Accuracy
Paint names, shades and stockists are checked at the time of writing, but ranges get discontinued and prices change. Always order testers and check current details with the retailer before buying.
